We currently have an opportunity for aProcess Engineerto join our team at our highly automated plant in Weyauwega, Wisconsin.

Your Role:

The Process Engineer supports Manufacturing Operations using engineering skills to identify and implement process improvements in the areas of Safety, Product Quality, and Efficiency. The individual will be responsible for developing procedures that facilitate process standardization and support future process expansion. In addition, the individual will monitor processes for effectiveness, quantify results, and present findings to management. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Work safely, in a manner that protects and promotes the health and well-being of the individual, fellow employees, and the environments.

  • Lead or assist with manufacturing and R&D trials as required.

  • Plan, manage, and deliver Capital Projects on time and within budget. Coordinate internal and external resources to deliver services or equipment as required.

  • Engage production employees in continuous improvement activities to ensure new equipment or processes meet the needs of the production team.

  • Train Production and Maintenance teams on new or improved processes within the plant. Develop standard work procedures or other documentation to ensure process is maintained.

  • Assist Production Manager with the investigation and resolution of quality issues reported within the plant and externally in the field.

  • Assist in general maintenance of plant process equipment, applying working knowledge of facilities equipment.

  • Comply with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) programs to ensure products meet the requirements for safe packaging of food products, and report food safety concerns to those with authority to take action.

  • Limited travel may be required to visit equipment vendors, customers, or technical forum.

We need you to have:

  • BA/BS in Engineering.

  • 3-5 years of applicable technical experience required.

  • Demonstrated motivation and leadership skills required.

  • Demonstrated application of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular engineering field (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred).

  • Proficiency in various computer software to include MS Office applications, CAD, QAS, and MiniTab.

  • A commitment to excellence and continuous improvement with experience in various Continuous Improvement Processes and Initiatives (i.e. 5S, Value Streams, Six Sigma, TPM).

  • Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.

Icing on the cake:

  • MBA or other advanced degree a plus.

  • Previous project management certification and/or experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Computer Aided Drafting preferred.

  • Experience in a polyethylene bag-making environment preferred.
