THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Maintenance Planning Superintendent opening is at the West Point Mill which is situated in eastern Virginia, between Richmond and Williamsburg. The mill is a fully integrated paper mill with three paper machines, five boilers, pulp mill, bleach plant, woodyard, recycling facility and wastewater treatment plant.

This position is responsible for the Maintenance Planning Departments’ activities to continually improve the performance of production equipment reliability and the efficiency of the work processes that supports it. They extend those efforts to other departments that are part of the work management process. The Planning Superintendent reports directly to the mill Maintenance Manager.

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT WESTROCK:

• Oversees the uniform use of computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)

• Oversees the consistent application of the mill’s workflow and enterprise asset & procurement management (EPAM) process by generating and reviewing related compliance metrics.

• Develops action plans to address maintenance process inefficiencies

• Sets department objectives for improving safety, training, quality, cost, and productivity as well as development of the maintenance budget.

• Coordinates annual outage efforts.

• Develops salaried cross-department employees through effective communication and training as it relates to the CMMS and EPAM process.

• Interfaces with all operating departments on a routine basis.

• Provides analysis of key metrics for the mill regarding asset management process, maintenance budget and storeroom inventory.

• Co-manages cost control for department to ensure that expenditures do not exceed budget.

• Monitors behaviors within organizational boundaries to maintain a culture embedded in professionalism, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, respect, and trust.

• Supports and fosters safety and environmental compliance.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred or related field experience (7+years) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience within the paperboard industry preferred.

• Supervisory or management experience is preferred.

• JDE (CMMS), MS Project, Word, Excel experience preferred.
