POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of plant management assist with operations including but not limited to traffic, production scheduling, maintenance, environmental health & safety and continuous improvement (5s).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned, as necessary.

1. Environmental Health and Safety (20%)

  • Assist plant management and EH&S manager scheduling training of personnel

  • Conduct training sessions and compliance audits for applicable safety and environmental programs

  • Monitor and execute OSHA and State regulatory inspections

  • Keeps up to date employees training file and compliance documents

  • Stays informed of all applicable State and Federal Health Safety and Environmental policies and maintains EMIS system.

Lean/5s (20%)

  • Initiate and oversee 5s method projects

  • Oversee safety compliance initiatives.

  • Assist plant management on lean initiative projects utilizing Lean Six Sigma principles

Maintenance support (25%)

  • Assist Maintenance Specialist with scheduling of preventative maintenance, supervision of emergency repairs, etc.

  • Ensure that all equipment and facilities are in compliance with OSHA regulations.

  • Manages outside vendor services in support of maintenance, upkeep, repair and upgrades of buildings and operations.

  • Plans/evaluates services, goods, and supplies and insures cost and quality meet established specifications.

Production support (35%)

  • Develop production schedules utilizing MRP and other systems. Coordinate execution of schedule with Production. As requested, provide backup support to plant management with regards to overall production supervision.

  • Ensures that all personnel in area follow proper safety procedures

  • Coordinates with Quality Control for sample testing and/or adjustments as required by work instructions

  • Assist in the training of Production Operator personnel

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma

Specialized Skills and Experience :

  • Minimum 5 years’ production/warehouse operations experience.

  • Experience with JD Edwards or equivalent shop floor control and management software systems.

  • Working knowledge of contemporary Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management concepts/methods desired.

  • Experience in the repair and maintenance of manufacturing and related equipment. High level of mechanical aptitude

  • Physical ability to lift, move, and/or carry 50lbs.

  • Self-starter who works independently and can produce results.

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to execute responsibilities and prioritize in a multitask environment.

  • Effective communicator- written, oral, and interpersonal.

  • Computer skills: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook.

  • Team cooperation - maintain positive, cooperative attitude with all employees of LATICRETE and all customers.

  • Demonstrable aptitude for mathematics and science.
