Job Description

Maintains and repairs the facilities structure equipment and grounds plumbing electrical and HVAC. Performs skilled trades work such as carpentry or painting in the construction repair or alteration of structures such as wall roofs or office fixtures as directed by the facilities manager. Works with manufacturing or process engineering in the installation or repair of building plumbing and wiring required in the production process. Makes periodic or special inspections of the premises to determine repair work necessary and reports such work to the Facilities Supervisor. Works from blueprint drawings or rough sketches. Assist the Director of Facilities and Security with administrative tasks related to facility management, such as purchase requisitions and vendor invoices.

Job Duties

• Performs minor repairs to plumbing fixtures valves and other devices within the facility.

• Performs minor painting and drywall repairs.

• Monitor contractor performance and works closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications.

• Ability to work from a work order system which includes the creation of work orders.

• Performs basic maintenance with standards manufacturing equipment.

• Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by either the Facilities Supervisor or Director of Facilities and Security.

• Performs basic HVAC repair on various rooftop units Leiberts and exhaust fans.

• Participates in the Corporate Continuous Improvement Program and EHS.

• Availability for occasional overtime required. 24 hour on call availability required.

• Experience with computers and computer software.

• This person acts as the liaison to Evident Scientific Inc Olympus Scientific Solutions internal customers and all third-party vendors.

Job Requirements

Education:

• High School Diploma or trade school equivalent work experience related to facilities and/or maintenance.

Experience:

• 3-5 years’ work experience in a maintenance position.

• Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment.

Skills:

• Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook experience preferred.

• Ability to communicate (oral and written) effectively with all levels of employee’s contractors and vendors.

• Ability to lift 75 lbs. Ability to work additional hours as warranted by projects.

• Available for on call/afterhours services.

• Must be a strong problem solver.

• Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.
