Zelis Warehouse Material Handler in United States

The Warehouse/Material Handler’s job is to receive incoming shipments and properly log and maintain documentation. Prepare outgoing shipments and properly log and maintain shipping documentation. Pull materials upon production needs and deliver to staging area. Prepare and record outgoing mail shipments daily and locate to the outgoing mail area when completed while producing high quality work in a high volume environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Receives and checks incoming shipments of materials and other items

  • Verifies quantity, quality and accurate contents of incoming shipments with packing slips

  • Notifies Production Manager or supervisor of any quality issues, discrepancies in quantity or inaccuracies of received shipment

  • Properly shrink wraps and labels outgoing mail shipments and creates packing slips

  • Notifies Production Manager or supervisor of any discrepancies with outgoing mail

  • Removes and prepares all recycle containers for pick up. Stacks and bands cardboard skids, compresses and removes all full pallet boxes of paper from letter-shop production when required.

  • Removes and disposes of pallets and trash containers daily

  • Sweeps and maintains a clean and organized production and warehouse area

  • Pulls materials needed for letter-shop production based on operator requests

  • Notifies Production Supervisor of any safety concerns, mechanical needs or equipment malfunctions

  • Supports production staff as needed

  • Follows all standard operating procedures and instructions relevant to the job, position and department accurately

  • Follows established HIPAA, Compliance & Security policies, department policies, procedures, work instructions and safety and environmental guidelines

  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent GED required.

  • Any previous experience in Letter-shop production environment preferred.

  • Any previous warehouse, forklift, pallet jack experience preferred.

  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Must have basic computer skills (data entry, etc.).

  • Strong mechanical aptitude preferred

Physical Factors & Requirements:

  • Stand for long periods of time

  • Able to lift 50 lbs. or more

  • Reliable transportation to and from work

  • Use standard office and warehouse equipment

  • Must be able to maintain good attendance

  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed, significant overtime is required during busy periods
