Purpose of Role

This role is critical in helping to establish and maintain a true culture of continuous improvement (C.I.) within Operations at Rehrig Pacific, and to help steer the team to achieve its improvement and cost savings goals in alignment with our operational strategy. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership and relationship abilities, and a deep understanding of lean principles and digital technologies.

Areas of Accountabilities

Provide management & oversight of all C.I. activity in Operations:

  • Create the business processes to manage, measure, and govern all C.I. activity across all manufacturing plants, service centers, and support functions within Operations.

  • Partner with Operations leaders and collaborate with non-Operations leaders to align resources and prioritize C.I. activity based on value.

  • Provide monthly updates to leadership on C.I. progress and the associated savings/value aligned with our strategic objectives.

    Manage the Digital Operations Team:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Digital Operations Team responsible for leveraging digital technology to enhance and automate business processes.

  • Clarify and educate the organization on Digital Operation-s work and capabilities and ensure that value is demonstrated via implemented solutions.

  • Define business processes around opportunity discovery, evaluation, prioritization, collaboration, & implementation.

    Facilitate the Technology Acceleration (TechX) program:

  • Oversee the TechX program (a subset of C.I. work aimed at driving innovation and expediting the adoption of technology within Operations via proof of value trials and research).

  • Guide and support workstream leaders and facilitate a monthly review process.

    Implement Lean and (Rehrig) Accountable Management System training:

  • Partner with C.I. leads and the Learning & Development team to define a strategy and implementation plan to bring Lean/C.I./Accountable Management System training to all levels of Operations.

  • Mentor and coach teams to apply lean methodologies to streamline processes and eliminate waste.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor-s degree, preferably in engineering or a related technical field

  • Proven experience (5 years) in leading continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment

  • Strong knowledge of lean methodologies, process improvement tools, and industrial management systems (i.e. Toyota Production System)

  • Experience in managing digital transformation projects and leveraging technology to drive operational efficiency

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and people skills

  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization

  • Data-driven, meticulous, and highly organized

  • Proven history of delivering measurable results and achieving operational excellence

  • Travel 25%-50%

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Rehrig Pacific, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $140,000.00 to $160,000.00.
