Vectrus Maintenance Technician in Iraq
Overview
This position is physically located in Iraq in support of LOGCAP
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic security barriers. The maintenance technician will be responsible for, but not limited to ensuring compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) for the following functions: security barrier electrical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, mechanical systems and electronic control stations.
Responsibilities

Analyzes deficiencies in equipment and supervises necessary
Provides technical/operational guidance to ensure compliance with the PWS while delivering desired
Inspects equipment and as necessary, conducts repairs or replaces faulty components using a variety of hand tools and
Participates in the preventive and corrective maintenance
Completes mechanical repairs or improvements on a variety of processes, equipment, fixtures, and unit
Evaluates maintenance requests, sets priorities, and processes work
Inspects hydraulic systems for wear, leaks and proper fluid level IAW manufacturer’s
Changes bearings, sprockets, chains, belts, shafts, cylinders, and other interchangeable
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
OCN Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of 4 to 7 years of mechanical maintenance experience.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must possess specific training in the operation of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Working knowledge of electrical systems including secondary distribution and interior systems
Must possess strong knowledge in a skilled-trade (electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, etc.)
Must possess a current valid Driver's License.
Skills:
Requires ability to analyze the operation of various infrastructure systems, determine the cause of malfunctions, and take corrective actions as required
Strong leadership and analytical skills
Effective communication, organizational, interpersonal and people management skills.
Working Conditions:
Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very
adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
Physical Requirements:
Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to
physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to,
head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
