Summary
The position coordinates professional services delivery to students related to tutoring, support services, math center and advising including special populations activities for the Perkins and At Risk Grants.
Qualifications
• Master's degree in social science or related field (Required) • Between 2 and 5 years of related experience (Required) • Familiarity with Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs (Preferred) • Experience with grant management and reporting (Preferred) • Experience managing multiple budgets (Preferred)
Essential Responsibilities
• (Critical) Coordinates the Tutorial Program and Math & Science Center, including scheduling, monitoring and tracking tutoring services provided to students and tracking attendance in classes and tutoring sessions. • (Critical) Develops tutoring services policies and procedures for acquiring and maintaining services to ensure student needs are met and grant regulations are being followed. • (Critical) Supervises others in accordance with NMC's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees? planning, assigning, and directing work? appraising performance? rewarding, recognizing employees? addressing performance problems or gaps. • (Critical) Coordinates Grants Management, including determining and implementing program improvement activities under special populations guidelines for Perkins Indicators on student success, access, retention and completion of program goals. • (Critical) Uses ongoing assessment of program and service quality and effectiveness to identify needed changes and improvements and ensures quality of service in all areas by setting goals and outcomes, and conducting assessment. • (Critical) Completes program reports from services provided and addresses problem areas by developing new learning strategies to assist students. • (Critical) Interprets Dean's Guide from State of Michigan to ensure grant guidelines are being met. Ensures that services are being provided that comply with the regulations and are deemed appropriate under grants. Interprets AtRisk Legislation to ensure compliance. • (Critical) Completes all applications, final reports, budgets, and data requirements as required under the grant regulations, and submits reports. • (Critical) Prepares and manages the department budget to ensure budget planning and business plan efficiently utilize the financial resources of the College and promote innovation.
