About you and this role- What you will do in this role

Provides maintenance in acquired trade to plant operations. Plans the details and working procedures by determining replacement needs or new materials are required, and develops a logical approach to correct the problem. Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of working trade. Fabricates parts if not commercially available, using machines and hand tools common to the trade. Advises and cautions operators, tradesmen and supervisors about potential problems, recurring failures, and inherent dangers involved. Takes corrective action to eliminate or reduce safety impact of potential issues identified. May oversee apprentices. Be able to give directions and assistance when needed. Works with plant engineering and project engineers on evaluating, assisting, checking, and installation of various equipment.

Responsibilities- Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role

  • Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair:

  • Electrical equipment (AC/DC Drives, power controls circuits, starters, MCCs).

  • Microprocessor based systems (PLCs, Electronic circuits, controls).

  • Industrial voltage distribution systems (single and three phase systems).

  • Instrumentation (pneumatic controls, PID, transducers, analog/digital signals).

  • power distribution and generation (transformers, switchgears, breakers).

  • Scales calibrations, Metal detector calibrations, printers.

  • Conduct Planned Preventive and Predictive Maintenance and keep maintenance records.

  • Recommend and implement corrective action and required repairs.

  • Assist in planning, and organization of work activities (drawing interpretation, parts preparation).

  • SAP Knowledge will be an asset.

Qualifications- Required education, experience and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves)

  • Red Seal Electrical Certificate (309A).

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

  • Strong electrical, instrumentation, automation, pneumatics experience.

  • 3 Phase and single-phase voltage, Weigh Scales, Vision Systems, HMI, Schneider Electric Modicon, Allen Bradley PLC, VFD, Servomotors, Ethernet Network Communications experience essential.

  • A minimum requirement for this Canada based position is the ability to work legally in the Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.

Preferred Skills -An expanded list of qualifications that are "nice to have", but not essential

  • Red Seal Instrument Technician.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Strong decision making, problem solving troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and in a multifunctional team with minimum supervision.

  • Will be required to work indoors and outdoors.

  • Candidates applying will be able to work a 40 hour work week.
