Posting Close Date: May 20, 2024 The Opportunity The Field Safety Manager will report to the Senior Manager of US Safety West to lead a diverse, field-based team of safety professionals that support the safe execution of work throughout our American Gulf, Upland Prairie and Pacific Mountain regions which traverse our Western US Assets in TX, OK, KS, MO, IA, IL, MN, SD, ND, MT, WY, WA, OR, CA, NV, LA, MS, TN, KY and IN. Our US Safety team is looking to add an #EnergyProblemSolver in our footprint (in above mentioned states) to support the safe execution of work, influence of safety culture, and implementation of operational management systems in our Western US assets. We are seeking a Manager of Field Safety who has knowledge and experience in occupational safety, process safety, pipeline transmission operations, construction or project execution. This individual has the proven skills, competencies, and capacity to lead and support multi-functional teams through active collaboration and guidance, troubleshoot and lead increasingly complex issues, lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture. What you'll do Lead by example promoting strong safety culture aligned with industry and TC Energy policies and best practices. Support and lead direct reports and stakeholder teams through active guidance. Utilize data to drive strategic decision making and preventive action plans for area of responsibility. Support the Incident Management Team and Regional Emergency Operations Center (REOC) for coordinated incident response within the ICS structure. Drive continuous learning through quality incident response including incident notification, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Represent TCE energy and interface with regulatory bodies for assurance reviews and inspections. Promote a learning culture through active participation in document, facility, and work reviews. Defines safety deliverables, monitors performance, and ensures compliance with company and industry standards. Foster a collaborative working relationship with all stakeholders. Provide advice and guidance to team, leadership, and business partnerships on safety related topics and issues. Lead increasingly complex issues that may be sensitive, ambiguous, and which possess a wider breadth of business impact. Creates a working environment of trust where concerns, ideas, and decisions are openly discussed. Contribute to developing and drive obtaining team goals within alignment to business objectives. Minimum Qualifications Certification or degree in a related discipline of Health, Safety and Environment, Operations, Construction, Engineering, or relevant experience in lieu of formal education. Minimum of 10+ years of associated industry experience Strong organizational skills, technical competence, and attention to detail Responsive to customer needs and requests. Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) Proven ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of varying sizes. Proven ability to assess performance and proactively course correct. Experience and training in investigations and audits Anticipates and thrives in dynamic business environments and changing requirements. Exercises independent judgment in the planning, organization, and completion of assignments.
