What you will be doing:

*Shift: Mon-Fri (6am-2pm) *

Wage: $17hr. (Sign on Bonus Available; Training Starting Wage)

The primary purpose of the press assistant is to accommodate the printing presses to ensure all materials required to successfully produce printed jobs are ready and available. To inspect all prepared job materials, fill in gaps for any and all items required, along with any additional needs such as press chemistry, staging sheeted loads to each appropriate press, assist in make ready's and wash ups to aid in a rapid start time. Cross training is a must.

Essential Functions Include:

  • Prep loads for the Printing Department (all presses) using aerator.
  • Check all subsequent scheduled job bags for complete information pertaining to the job, i.e., samples, proofs, color standards, etc. (anything required for the pressman to complete the job without questions).
  • Move loads from printing department to cutting department staging area. Fill in on press crews when short or vacations.
  • Maintain all chemicals on each press at the end of the shift. Maintain chemical. Clear out old drums, maintain SDS labels. Keep pressroom clean (floors, presses, catwalks, etc.)
  • Check twice daily coating overflow container and alarm systems on all presses.
  • Check twice daily press fountain solution for all presses and fill if needed. Any work-related requests made by the Lead Pressman.
  • Operate a forklift as needed to remove printing supplies from storage.
  • While regular working cycle of this production is usually five 8-hour days Monday -- Friday, working hours may vary as specified by management. Must be able to work overtime on a regular basis and/or be on call as directed by management.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required between the assigned start and end times of work.
  • Assures and maintains safe and healthful working conditions while enforcing safety rules and regulations.
  • It is the essential function of the job that the individual will not be a direct threat to the health or safety of themselves, others, or property. Direct threat is defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must be highly organized, team oriented, attention to detail and quality.

Must be able to pass pre-employment testing.

Previous manufacturing experience is always a plus, but not required.

High School diploma or equivalent (Preferred).
