Job Summary

This is an extra help position (no benefits) working 24 hours per week.

Positions allocated to this classification perform semi-skilled/skilled landscaping and general maintenance tasks for the Fair and Exposition Center grounds and facilities. Duties require working with hand-held tools and operating small/light duty power equipment. Work is performed under general supervision.

Examples of Duties

• Performs landscaping tasks including (but not limited to) mowing and watering lawn areas, trimming shrubbery, pulling weeds, etc.

• Assists with janitorial and general facility maintenance tasks.

• Assists with post-event cleaning, including the cleaning of livestock areas.

• May act as lead worker to other extra help staff.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Nine (9) month combination of training and/or experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

• BACKGROUND CHECK: Positions require successfully passing a criminal background check.

• LICENSE: Certain positions may require a valid driver’s license.
