COLUMBUS COMMUNITY CENTER FT Graveyard Direct Support Professional (DSP/Caregiver) in SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Hours: Nights, 10:30 PM - 8:00 AM, Wednesday - Saturday

Pay: $18.50/hr + $850 Bonus

$850 bonus payout schedule:

$200.00 after onboarding and initial training completed

$200.00 after 30 days and training completed

$450.00 after 6 months of employment 

We seek compassionate, patient, and dependable people to become Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). This job offers challenging and rewarding work! We want DSPs that can develop a rapport with individuals with disabilities to nurture safe and supportive relationships. Positivism, teamwork, and collaboration are essential!

The Direct Support Professional provides support and guidance to people with disabilities in a residential setting. They will be awake during the night hours to monitor and supervise residents. They might assist with the activities of daily living, such as showering, bathing, toileting, or feeding, with lower-functioning clients.

What you will do:

  • Supervise and monitor adults with disabilities in a group home setting.
  • Assist individuals with basic self-care.
  • Light housekeeping, laundry, cooking breakfast, and making lunches.
  • Staying awake during the night hours to monitor and assist residents.
  • Document following policies and procedures and all pertinent laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and working relationships with other staff, families, and the public.  

*What you'll need to succeed: *

•      Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

•      Must be at least 18 years old

•      One year of experience is preferred

•      Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record

•      Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test then initial criminal background and then annually thereafter

•      Must lift 100 lbs, push, pull, bend, kneel, stand or sit for sustained periods.

•      Experience supporting people with disabilities is preferred but not required. We will train.

•      Must speak, read and write English
