Where You Will Work

Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM) is the primary division of Stanley Black & Decker Aerospace. We are a leading innovator and strategic partner in the manufacturing of fasteners, fittings, and engineered products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. CAM is currently comprised of nine subsidiaries across the United States split among three segments.

Job Summary:

Maintains plant machinery and mechanical equipment in good repair. Examines machines to diagnose trouble, dismantles machines, replaces defective parts, reassembles machines, and makes necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation.

Essential Functions:

  • Dismantles machinery, equipment, and parts, using hand tools, such as hacksaws, files, reamers, wrenches, and screwdrivers.

  • Inspects parts to determine salvage ability, method of repair or reworking parts.

  • Prepares and operates metal-working tools, such as engine lathes, milling, drilling, grinding, polishing, and buffing machines to repair parts.

  • Files, taps, reams, bends, straightens, or uses other methods to recondition parts, using hand tools.

  • Verifies dimensions and tolerances, using blueprints, scales, and precision-measuring instruments.

  • May reassemble parts, using hand tools and power tools.

  • Operates forklift to move and replace heavy machines and machine parts.

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Works from ladders and/or scaffolds where necessary.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; or one to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certified forklift operator.

  • Specialized Requirements: Safety training at all levels.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Analyze assets and sub-components with DVM, Weld scopes, Power analyzers, Meggers, ability to analyze/troubleshoot both legacy electronics as well as SMT electronics.

  • Knowledge and function of Servo drives, HMI function, VFD's, FRL's, Solenoids, Hydraulic valves, Pneumatic cylinders and logic, Reeves drives, light curtains, contactors, relay logic, mechanical adjustments including limit switches, PLC knowledge.

  • Hydraulic presses, lasers cutters, laser welders, resistance welding equipment, wire EDM, CNC lathes, CNC mills, dust collectors, compressors, basic RTU operation experience or knowledge preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to talk and hear.

  • Vision – clear, close, mid distances, depth perception, color, peripheral and ability to focus.

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly, and frequently move or lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Walking - frequently

  • Using hands to finger, handle, or feel - almost continuously.

  • Climb and balance occasionally.

  • Reaching with hands and arms - almost continuously

Working Condition:

  • Work near moving mechanical parts - frequently.

  • Fumes or airborne particles - frequently

  • Moderate noise – almost continuously

  • Loud noise - frequently
