Responsibilities

Picking Orders: The primary responsibility is to accurately pick items from shelves or bins according to the order list provided. This involves locating the correct items, verifying their quantity and condition, and ensuring they match the order specifications.

Operating Equipment: Order pickers often use equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or reach trucks to access items stored on high shelves or in other locations within the warehouse. Proper training and certification may be required to operate this equipment safely.

Inventory Management: Maintaining accurate inventory records is crucial. Order pickers may be responsible for updating inventory systems to reflect items that have been picked and shipped, as well as identifying discrepancies between physical inventory and recorded inventory.

Quality Control: Inspecting items for damage or defects is essential to ensure customers receive high-quality products. Order pickers may need to reject items that do not meet quality standards and report any issues to supervisors or quality control personnel.

Packing and Packaging: After picking items, order pickers may be responsible for packing them securely for shipment. This could involve placing items in boxes, ing labels, and arranging them on pallets for transportation.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment

• working in a non-temperature controlled environment

• manual lifting up to 50lbs

• standing for 8 hours at one time

• working up to 2 hrs of overtime per week
