Position Description: General Farm/Ranch labor and Irrigator

Hours per Week: 40 hours per week, day shift. Will include weekend work. May be required to work

more than 40 hours per week when necessary.

Position Type: Seasonal, temporary; irrigation season to late fall. Opportunity for mid-winter

night/calving position and/or re-hire next spring.

Essential Functions: Primary job function involves fencing and irrigation involving monitoring and

moving K-lines, hand lines, wheel lines and pivots.

Responsibilities:

Position requires manual labor building and repair fences; haul dirt or hay using heavy

equipment; and load/unload trucks and other equipment.

Secondary duties may include using hand tools/equipment or operating a variety of farm

equipment to irrigate a variety of crops and grass pastures.

Operating hand and power tools for weed control.

Record and provide basic accounting for trucks or equipment.

Work outdoors in adverse conditions for extended periods of time.

Establish effective working relationships with coworkers and managers.

Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

Assume responsibility for department safety standards.

Willingness and ability to work outside in all weather conditions.

Skills:

Knowledge of a variety of farm labor and maintenance tasks including irrigation, equipment

operation, basic construction, and standard safety practices.

Operate a wide range of farm equipment and hand and power tools.

Ability to lift or move objects weighing up to 80 pounds.

A valid drivers license.

Experience:

Ranch or farm labor: 1 year (preferred)

Education:

High school or equivalent (preferred)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must successfully complete and pass a background and

driving record check.
