OLED Technologies LLC OLED Production & Research Technician I in Rochester, New York

Overview

It all starts with you! When you join the OLED Production & Research Technician team you will be part of the core group who sets up and executes research experiments, produces our OLED panels on our coater machines, and ultimately continues to help advance our OLED multi-stack technology. You can't mind being on your feet as you will operate and monitor progress, troubleshoot, and perform periodic maintenance on the machines and related tools and equipment we use. A key part of your role will be inspecting parts and products to specifications carefully provided by the engineers, and making adjustments or changes necessary to maintain top quality.

What You'll Do Every Day

Each day, you will prepare experiments and execute the production of OLEDs. This will include performing a variety of tasks in a clean room environment. As you can imagine, all of the steps that contribute to the final quality product must be carefully executed. You will contribute to the Quality Management System in Rochester and help OLEDWorks maintain ISO9001 and IATF certifications.

To get started, you will need to carefully review and interpret the coating sheet "recipe" provided by the formulation engineers. You will clean substrates and prepare and load organic materials into the coater machines according to the specifications. You will move glass within a dry box or glove box environment into carriers, and load glass into machines manually or via software. You will initiate and ensure adequate vacuum levels to proceed with your coating process, monitor for a variety of factors, and hop in to troubleshoot and make adjustments when things do not go as planned. To ensure top functionality of our machines and ensure the surrounding environment is ideal, you will perform a variety of preventative maintenance tasks according to schedule.

You will collaborate closely with the Production team and R&D engineers and may also contribute to special projects. You will always comply with safety regulations and maintain clean work areas. Although the majority of your work will be in what we call the Fab or the Lab, you may also work at your desk to document statistical process control, record results, or write-up procedures.

Skills You Must Bring

You bring an aptitude and strong interest in chemical processes and mechanical engineering. You have hands-on working experience in a fabrication type environment. It is helpful if you bring organic and inorganic materials knowledge as well as skills in mechanical operation in a vacuum environment. You are comfortable working independently as well as coordinating with others and your ability to problem solve is a must. You can adapt within a changing and growing company environment and seek out solutions with a positive outlook. You have demonstrated the delivery of great internal customer service in previous employment and understand the importance of the same at OLEDWorks.
