Special Risks Analyst - Global Protection Services

Global Protection Services - Special Risks Team identifies, mitigates, and responds to risks that emerge when a temporary change in Aon’s posture, or a rapid deterioration in the security environment, increases potential threats to colleague safety and wellbeing. For example, when colleagues enter a location with different customs, health concerns, or security threats, when a change in work practice congregates colleagues in a location outside of Aon’s corporate real estate footprint, geopolitical crises, and natural disasters.

What the day will look like

As Special Risks Analyst you'll be responsible for:

  • Tracking, locating, and communicating with Aon colleagues who are expatriates, international assignees, or travelers – often in high-risk destinations.

  • Providing timely and relevant heath and travel security risk information to Aon travelers and expatriates.

  • Coordination and documentation of global travel incidents such as: supporting victims of crime, facilitating medical assistance, or providing guidance when travel is profoundly disrupted.

  • Reporting on trends in colleague travel derived from Aon’s travel risk management platform.

  • Assistance in the establishment of methodologies to solve analytical problems when raw unfinished data contains information gaps and requires validation.

  • Quality assurance analysis and frequent health checks of travel data entering the travel risk management platform.

  • Collection of relevant information through public sources, social media, and traditional media outlets to maintain a focused understanding of potential business operations disruptions and physical security risks.

  • Performing analysis to identify trends in relevant security threats, assessing their potential impact, and forecasting their possible evolution.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 2 years of experience in a travel management, geopolitical analysis incident management, emergency response, or security operations

  • Fluency (min. C1) in English

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite tools, specifically Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently via phone, email, and virtual platforms

  • General knowledge of business travel operations, business travel accident, and general enterprise risk management

  • Self-motivated with the ability and maturity to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions as well as maintain focus in a virtual working environment

  • Ability to remain calm and professional during fast paced situations or when working in challenging circumstances
