The Senior Systems Engineer will provide advanced systems engineering support to Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD). This will involved leading efforts in designing, developing, testing, and evaluating new operational concepts within both laboratory and field environments. This position requires a strong aptitude for technical performance measure evaluations, project milestone achievements, and systems safety management in compliance with military standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for:

• Designing and developing new operational concepts for evaluation in laboratory and field settings.

• Testing and evaluating integrated sensor technologies and prototype systems using various military, land, vehicle systems, and other platforms.

• Documenting and reporting on technical performance evaluations and project milestones.

• Maintaining and managing the systems safety Hazard Tracking Log (HTL) as per MIL-STD-882E.

• Preparing, implementing schedules, and conducting briefings related to systems safety.

• Managing data exchanges of systems safety information and providing administrative support.

• Assisting the Systems Safety Lead with adherence to OPNAVINST 2400.20F and NSWCPCDINST 5100.34B regulations.

• Actively participating in meetings, training sessions, and interfacing with other DoD activities.

• Performing other duties as assigned.

  REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in an Engineering or related technical discipline with at least 5 years of experience in applied systems engineering, particularly with a background in engineering disciplines as part of acquisition processes.

• Proven experience in the design, development, and testing of sensor components or systems.

• Strong familiarity with MIL-STD-882E and related safety management practices.

• Ability to manage complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams effectively.

  DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Masters degree in Systems Engineering or a related field.

• Professional certifications related to systems engineering or project management.

• Experience with military contracting and familiarity with NSWC PCD processes and standards.

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

• Proven ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic environments.
