The primary role of the reliability engineer is to identify and manage equipment reliability risks that can adversely affect plant or business operations. The successful candidate will detect, document and direct repairs aimed at improving fixed and rotating equipment reliability.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop, document and formalize best practices and specifications to ensure rotating equipment reliability * Provide leadership in the Root Cause Failure Analysis process as well as serve as an RCFA analyst. * Utilize predictive and other non-destructive testing to identify and resolve inherent reliability problems. * Perform engineering calculations necessary to upgrade equipment as necessary. * Maintain and update equipment and CMMS databases * Write work requests for identified equipment issues * Assist in equipment troubleshooting as requested by Production and Maintenance. * Assist Maintenance Planners in maintaining information in the CMMS and drawing systems. * Perform other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
* B.S. Mechanical Engineering preferred (Equivalent industrial experience in the use of PDM technologies will be considered.) * Demonstrated rotating equipment knowledge and troubleshooting skills. * Proficient in the utilization of applicable industrial codes. * Experience in understanding vibration analysis technology. * Formal training and use of RCFA, RCA, RCM, IR, Oil analysis, Laser Alignment and other Precision Maintenance Techniques and Technologies desired. * Working knowledge of Windows, Word and Excel. AutoCad a plus. * Self Starter/Team Player. * Willing to be taught through study and practical application. * Willing to travel as needed for training. * Willing to train others. * Three-five years experience related to field is preferred.
