Job Title: Process EngineerJob Description:APC Paper Company of NY is seeking a Process Engineer to apply engineering techniques and assist in the improvement of manufacturing processes and products. Analyze and assess current engineering equipment and processes and implement updates designed to increase efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and promote quality and reliability. Establish protocols for troubleshooting and repairing engineering and manufacturing equipment. Track, log, and report on activity, metrics, changes, cost or process savings, and project status. Collaborate with other engineers, product development, leadership, and quality teams. Provide technical assistance and knowledge to operations and leadership. Assist mill superintendent with paper chemistry to ensure finished paper quality and paper machine efficiency. Train personnel in equipment usage and processes as needed.Job Requirements:Employer requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering field, or foreign equivalent, and 3 years of experience such as an Industrial Engineer, Corporate Cost Engineer, or acceptable relevant alternate occupation. Work or academic experience must have included: tracking and analyzing data to identify opportunities for process improvement; leading software implementation projects for ERP systems; performing risk assessment to determine a projects’ economic feasibility; providing technical assistance and knowledge to an operations team; chemistry and lab procedures; and database reporting of machine run rates, uptime, scrap, and overall performance.Salary: $82,000 per yearJob Locations: 100 Remington Avenue, Norfolk, NY 13667.
