Deloitte Tax Senior Manager, International Core of Excellence (ICE) in New York, New York

About the Team

Deloitte Tax LLP's (Deloitte Tax) International Core of Excellence (ICE) is a US-based team of highly experienced, international tax practitioners from some of the world's largest countries and key financial centers. Fifteen countries are currently represented, each by a Tax Desk located in New York. Tax professionals of ICE utilize demonstrated significant experience in foreign tax systems and work with Deloitte Tax professionals to help develop business.

What You'll Do

The assignee will serve as a Senior Manager within Deloitte Tax's International Tax practice. The assignee will lead the Deloitte Tax International Tax desk. The desk will provide home country specific tax services to the firm's Multinational Companies. The assignee will interface and coordinate with the International Tax Practice and SCS lead tax partners to deliver high-value tax savings ideas to Deloitte Tax clients. The assignee will generate revenue based on the sale of these services and will develop tax-savings ideas as they relate to the US, foreign firm, and foreign regional taxes. The assignee will support the cross-border coordination of the ICE program tax practices and contribute to the penetration of our strategic clients and targets with specialized tax knowledge and skills. The assignee will hold the responsibility of positioning the international tax group in the manner consistent with our global image by setting a high standard of quality.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee complex tax projects for clients in diverse industries.

  • Lead engagements requiring tax analysis for a variety of clients and their affiliates.

  • Research, analysis and collaboration with engagement teams and partners/principals/managing directors on a wide range of tax issues.

  • Support the Desk Leader and ICE Program overall in his/her role to identify service opportunities, manage client accounts and billing, and advance various Deloitte Tax initiatives.

  • Collaborate with both US and home country tax teams on client engagements and marketing opportunities.

  • Supervise assignments of Managers, Senior Consultants and Consultants assigned to India tax desk.

  • Develop and motivate engagement staff and provide them with leadership, counseling and career guidance.

  • Meet client deliverable deadlines

  • Help lead ICE group technical and marketing activities.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 to 3 days per week

  • 8+ years international tax experience with a Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited member firm other than Deloitte LLP and its subsidiaries

  • A Bachelors Degree in accounting or comparable degree; Advanced degree preferred

  • Experience with US clients and a basic understanding of US tax

  • Fluency in spoken and written language for specific ICE Desk assigned

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English

  • Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.

  • Required to hold active accreditation(s), if any, as required by the Home DTTL Member Firm

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York City, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to New York City and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $178,010 to $330,590.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
