Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. Program Description:Corner House and West 140th Street are supportive housing residences that provides housing for the formerly homeless and individuals with severe mental illness in partnership with DHS and DOHMH. .

Purpose of Position: To monitor the activity of tenants/guests/vendors and ensure the safety and security of the building. Additional tasks may be assigned.

Hourly Rate:$18.00

Schedule: Building operates Monday through Sunday, schedule varies based on shift (Full-time or Part-time)

Cornerhouse- Saturdays 8am-4pm & 4pm-12am

140th W 140th- Fridays & Saturdays 4pm-12am,

             Sundays 12am-8am

       Mondays 12am-8am

Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties

  • Provide great customer service to all residents, guest, employees and vendors.

  • Answer telephones, check voicemails, take and receive messages for Employees.

  • Ensure that all visitors sign in and sign out.

  • Ensure that all visitors are desired by the resident they claim to be visiting before allowing them in the building. Check that all visitors are allowed in the building.

  • Bring emergency or significant issues to the attention of the Manager.

  • Maintain windows and cleanliness of main lobby and vestibule area.

  • Assist residents with completing work order requests.

  • Sort and distribute mail and packages.

  • Assist residents with lock outs.

  • Document and log all incidents via use of incident report forms.

  • Bring emergency or significant issues to the attention of the Manager.

  • Monitor and respond to all fire and emergency systems.

  • Monitor and control building access according to procedures.

  • Any other duties assigned with by Management.

    Staff supervision:

  • Report directly to Superintendent.

    Participate as a team member

  • Work collaboratively with other staff to assist tenants and ensure tenant/building safety.

    Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift 50 lbs.

    Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • High school degree, or the equivalent, required. A college degree preferred.

  • A minimum of 2 years of customer service experience required. Knowledge of HPD housing a plus. Able to work independently and effectively as part of a team.

  • Strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills.

    Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Strong customer service skills including the ability to juggle multiple priorities and maintain strong relationships with tenants and vendors.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications.

  • Bilingual-Spanish a plus.

    Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have/be:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; some experience with property management software a plus.

    Physical Requirements

  • Some walking throughout the site, light lifting and some bending

    Work Environment

  • Booth in the lobby of a residential multi-story apartment building.
