Description

This role primarily focuses on overseeing the accounting department functions with an emphasis on manufacturing and inventory control. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of financial statements and reporting, as well as managing costing structure of inventory and accounts receivable.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the month-end close process and ensure the delivery of accurate and timely financial statements.

• Manage general accounting functions including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, general ledger, and taxes.

• Monitor and manage the costing structure of inventory on a monthly basis, making necessary adjustments to standard costs.

• Manage accounts receivable and collections, reporting on customer collections and customers at risk monthly.

• Implement and enforce internal control policies and procedures.

• Lead quarterly balance sheet reviews and verify all accounts are reconciled.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting and audit activities.

• Assess current practices and procedures, recommending improvements where necessary.

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.

• Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end.

Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role as an Assistant Controller or in a related field

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is required

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions is mandatory

• Knowledge of Great Plains (GPAC) is highly desirable

• Must be adept at performing Accounting Functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Should have a strong understanding and experience in Auditing

• Experience in Budget Processes and Month End Close is necessary

• Ability to prepare and analyze Financial Statements is a key requirement

• Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial

• Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is necessary

• Must have a strong commitment to adhering to ethical standards and complying with financial regulations.
