Requisition Summary As a Strain GaugeInstrumentation Technician your primary function will be the installation and support ranging from single gages to complex load cell building. You will work with engineers and other technicians to turn ordinary parts into load cells, gauge prototype parts to understand their durability, and create instruments that will measure dynamic loads on whole Trucks and their systems. TheStrain Gauge Instrumentation Technician assist with data acquisition, test development and calibration lab operations throughout the development process of PACCAR's medium and heavy duty semi trucks. Get started! Job Functions / Responsibilities Specify, procure and Install transducers and data acquisition equipment. Configure and operate data acquisition test control software. Operate heavy duty trucks on test track. Prepare data for analysis. Perform calibration of accelerometers, pressure sensors and analog devices. Coordinate equipment repairs and calibrations. Develop and maintain written process documentation Foster good communication and cooperative work relationships with other departments. Inform managers, peers and internal customers of work progress and issues. Flexible and willing to adapt to changing duties and activities. Qualifications Certified Calibration Technician, PMEL or TMDE experience is a plus Strong mathematical skills, basic knowledge of general mechanical and electrical practices. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings of equipment, test fixtures and assemblies. Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to plan, organize and schedule work flow. Education AA Degree in related Technology or equivalent work experience. Division Information The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington.
