DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As the supervisor of the clean water program's permit section, your main responsibility will be to review permit applications for different water programs, ranging from sewage to industrial waste treatment. Your role will involve making recommendations and informing the program manager of the final decision. Additionally, you will ensure that all permit documentation complies with the law, regulations, and policies. This supervisory position also requires effective communication with permit applicants, governmental agencies, and the general public.

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • *Telework: *You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 day per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Meadville.
  • This position requires overtime as needed.
  • This position does require occasional travel for trainings and statewide meetings.
  • *Salary: *In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS *Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:*

  • Two years as an Environmental Engineer or an Air Quality Engineer; *or*
  • Five years of professional engineering experience in environmental protection or in environmental project development, design or construction.

     

*Special Requirement:*

  • This position requires possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists or a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the applicable licensing body of another state. 

*Other Requirements:*

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Post Employment Requirement:

  • Successful candidates with an out of state Professional Engineer license will be required to produce a valid Professional Engineer license issued by Pennsylvania within their initial six-month probationary period.
