The Sherwin-Williams Company Label Processor - 1st Shift in Massillon, Ohio

This position is accountable for implementing and controlling the procurement of labels and related production supplies at the specified quality specifications, on time and at the right price, while maintaining an uninterrupted flow to production and maintaining the appropriate inventory levels. Additional Information: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM Pre-check and verify label inventory needed for production batches utilizing the QAD inventory system and performing a visual check of label bins prior to releasing batches for production. Put away all incoming labels into their assigned bin locations utilizing the RF scanner. To control the organization and maintenance of label bins by rotating stock and controlling soft converted labels to avoid obsolescence. To handle all returning re-seals from the fill lines by inspecting, re-sealing and restocking to proper locations. Update the label problems as problem batches are found so that production is aware of all label shortages. To coordinate, order and follow up on expedited labels from all outside label vendors and to record and correct any discrepancies in the system inventory. To check in next day air labels and expedite the clearing of batches on hold. Pull labels for outside DRP transfers and prepare paperwork for shipping. To prepare label and miscellaneous shipments for UPS and Fed EX. To pull obsolete and quarantined labels as requested. Monitor and research problems with inventory. To perform cycle counts of labels and adjust inventory for accuracy. Ensure that production needs are met through the timely acquisition of necessary packaging items. Contribute to Area Supply Chain goals of Raw Material Service, finished goods service and J-29/MSN service. Achieve required inventory turns by carefully managing packaging and raw materials acquisition. Conduct all activities in an ethical/professional manner by strictly adhering to Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures. Contribute to the safety goals of the plant.
