The Price School has an immediate opening for aBusiness Analystto join its Information Technology (IT) team. We have recently announced a new vision for IT in the Price School and have reorganized the staff of the Price IT department. The Price IT department which currently provides desktop support, application support, identity access management, IT consulting, IT asset management, and server administration is expanding its services. In addition to existing functions, the team will now also provide Salesforce application administration and the development of cloud-based systems.

We seek a candidate with strong technical and customer service skills, and one with an understanding of cloud-based systems that support operations and academic research. S/he will have the interpersonal skills to develop, revise, and maintain software applications and solutions to meet the evolving needs of our operations and research teams’ business processes. The ideal candidate will have Salesforce certifications, which may include Salesforce Administrator, Business Analyst, Sales Cloud Consultant, and Account Engagement certifications.

Another important component to this job will be to provide deskside support. The ideal candidate will also have the knowledge of computing environments; experience with networks, workstations, wireless communication, security software and procedures. The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to establish strong, positive working relationships with diverse groups of team members.

Job duties include:

  • Develop requirements, conceptualize designs, and effectively recommend business processes in support of core organizational functions for the Price School.

  • Engage in Human Centered Design processes and approaches to deliver a broad range of sustainable solutions, and in standard business analysis methodology, outlining problems, opportunities, and solutions.

  • Build, design, and deliver solutions that meet customer needs and expectations. Participate in user research to gain understanding of customer and stakeholder pain points, challenges and needs.

  • Maintain currency on emerging technologies and approaches, leveraging the latest industry knowledge while contributing to innovation and continuous improvement for the organization.

  • Install and troubleshoot software and hardware. Perform backup and system restore procedures as needed.

  • Analyze user needs and evaluate new products; recommend hardware and software purchases. Collaborate with other units to improve access to and maximize use of computing resources.

  • Customize the Salesforce platform and enable users to get the most of the Salesforce platform.

  • Other duties as assigned.

This position reports to the Manager of Service Desk and is a full-time hybrid work arrangement position. Work schedule is 10:00am - 6:30pm.

Minimum Field of Expertise

Proven record of delivering end-to-end, user-centered products, considering stakeholder requirements, user research, market analysis, data, customer feedback and technical constraints and opportunities. Experience conducting or facilitating requirement-gathering interviews or sessions. Experience utilizing analytics tools to measure results of use-centered products, documenting success, presenting opportunities, and supporting decision making. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and applications, an understanding of Lean and Agile methodologies, and familiarity with computer programming concepts. Experience developing test strategies and plans, using widely accepted test methodologies or frameworks and proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience working with functional groups, utilizing time management and prioritization skills to make efficient, logical decisions in a rapidly-changing environment. Knowledge of computing environments. Experience with networks, workstations, wireless communication, security software and procedures. Working knowledge of associated hardware, software, operating system, and peripherals. Experience administering and customizing applications in the Salesforce environment. Excellent communication skills. Strong project management skills.

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position is $99,000-$108,500. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
