This school year position will teach in a Pre-Kindergarten classroom with up to 18 children. Some primary responsibilities include maintaining a safe learning environment, following established curriculum, lesson planning, classroom management, observations and documentation as required by Head Start, DHHS and the Department of Education. In addition:

• Plans, prepares and conducts activities to create a nurturing learning environment and provide children with classroom experiences that enrich social, cognitive, physical and emotional development utilizing appropriate early childhood education practices.
• Monitors all indoor and outdoor learning environments to ensure the safety and supervision of children at all times.
• Establishes and implements procedures for ongoing observations utilizing outcome data related to child performance. Responsible for recording and evaluating childrens growth and development to ensure that appropriate activities are planned and executed to meet individual needs.
• Plans, schedules and conducts parent conferences and home visits.
• Provides guidance to Teacher Assistant, volunteers and other classroom personnel.
