Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. Located in Kingston, NY, this position is responsible for assisting in the oversight of Day and Res Habilitation documentation in coordination with program management. They will monitor program documentation requirements, including reviewing billing entries for accuracy; identifying discrepancies, errors, or potential fraud in billing submissions; resolving identified issues with employees and program managers; staying updated on Medicaid regulations and policy changes affecting billing; working with the Medicaid Documentation Oversight Manager on the development and implementation of strategies to enhance billing accuracy and efficiency; and maintaining detailed records of billing reviews and corrective actions taken. The Medicaid Documentation Oversight Assistant will perform related duties, special assignments, and projects, when requested.

Salary: $18.72 - $22.74 per hour, commensurate with education and experience

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required. Must possess a high school diploma /GED.

EXPERIENCE: Candidate must demonstrate one year of progressively responsible positions in a residential or day habilitation setting that provides supports for special needs individuals. Must be computer literate or demonstrate ability to learn computer skills in order to adequately function within the job.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail and analytical skills to identify errors.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, compliance standards and terminology.

  • Must have excellent communication skills to ensure timely resolution of noted items.

  • Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) system and general computer skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical or controlled substances. Significant, prolonged, and frequent amounts of walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, and lifting of 50 lbs. or more is required. Using standard crisis intervention procedures, must be able to single-handedly effect the initial restraint of children and adolescents weighing 70 lbs. Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens.
