UNIVERSITY OF NEB KEARNEY HVAC Technician in Kearney, Nebraska

The Facilities Management and Planning Department is seeking applications for a full-timeHVAC/Refrigeration Technician to perform skilled mechanical work on heat pumps, split systems., and various types of refrigeration equipment.

Read and work from blueprints, shop drawings and schematics. Perform electrical and plumbing work related to refrigeration and temperature control equipment. Work with all types of refrigerants, gases, welding equipment, tools and test equipment. Make all necessary tests and calibration for installation, maintenance and repair of equipment. Maintain operation and control of air handling systems. Install and maintain all types of air conditioning, refrigeration and temperature controls equipment. Submit material requisition for supplies for individual jobs. Must be able to work independently. Must perform all work in a safe and professional manner.

Required Qualifications: High School degree. Minimum two years experience in Refrigeration/Air conditioning service. A valid drivers license is required. Must have strong human relation abilities, excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrate leadership capabilities. Must be E.P.A certified.

Preferred Qualifications Associate Degree in related field to position. Five years experience in Refrigeration/Air conditioning service.
