Job Description

Maintenance Mechanic – IKO Midwest

IKO Midwest in Kankakee, IL is the leading provider of roofing products (shingles and composite roofing), is looking for a safety driven, ambitious, experienced mechanic to join our excellent maintenance team.

Candidates must comply with safety guidelines and follow Standard Operating Procedures. IKO Midwest has an excellent safety record and high safety standard.

This role requires swing shift, holiday hours, and the ability to be on-call.

* Experience in the manufacturing industry (preferably continuous manufacturing) is required.

• Candidates must have demonstrated ability to:

• Read and interpret work orders to perform required maintenance and service

• Perform routine condition-based monitoring of industrial equipment

• Troubleshoot mechanical problems

• Complete scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment

• Use a variety of hand and power tools

• Maintain an orderly work place

• Be flexible to changing shift times when needed

• Walk throughout plant, climb ladders, twist and bend routinely

• Properly assemble, clean, repair, and reassemble complex mechanical devices

• Lift and move up to 75 pounds on a routine basis using proper lifting techniques

• Experience with Lock-Out-Tag out procedures

• 3-5 years' experience required
