Citigroup Head of Data and Analytics in Irving, Texas

The Head of Data and Analytics manages multiple teams through other managers. Exhibits in-depth understanding of how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function. A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary. Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Determines approach to implementing functional strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses. Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. May be doing involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities. Typically, a direct report to a Managing Director role and function as an integral member of the functional leadership team within a country/site location, job family, or line of business.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements delivery and technology management approach for projects and associated plans to achieve strategic business goals and operational objectives.

  • Owns financial responsibility for Data and Analytics platforms and resources.

  • Prepares and presents key business cases underpinning strategic investment initiatives to maintain or build out the product capability.

  • Participates in strategic business engagements to build the right level of data inclusion into all business forums below the top exec level.

  • Plans and manages on-going product investment and activity in-line with defined portfolio balance, capacity and capability planning and development.

  • Builds a product improvement & innovation pipeline for prioritization and build an initial view of the underlying commercial value and potential.

  • Ensures current product landscape and architecture is mapped out, and deeply understood from a product origination point through fulfillment, processing, billing, servicing and revenue realization and reporting.

  • Manages team to interpret business requirements into technology specifications, ensures platform stability, data quality, and client support.

  • Acquires and apply advanced knowledge of the business, products and processes to ensure data quality and business delivery.

  • Synthesize analyses, identifies root causes, and develops plans for remediation of issues pertaining to Data and Analytics platforms and projects.

  • Facilitates development of project plans related to schedule, budget, scope, and resources while monitoring project execution to deliver incremental business value.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years managerial experience

  • Degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering or related work experience

  • 15+ years experience managing technology projects and resources, relevant business support and/or general analysis experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree and managerial experience

This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed. Other job-related duties may be assigned as required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong software development experience in cloud management products with working knowledge of orchestration platforms like Kubernetes/CloudFoundry.

  • Experience of designing, building, and deploying production-level data pipelines using tools from Hadoop stack (HDFS, Hive, Spark, HBase, Kafka, NiFi, Oozie, Apache Beam, Apache Airflow etc).

  • Expertise in Agile development methodology and solid understanding of DevOps

  • Strong understanding of OS (Linux), Hypervisors (KVM, Xen etc), Linux Containers(Docker) is required

  • Expertise in Microservices Architecture and Patterns with + years in web applications and web development involving Angular JS, React or similar javascript frameworks on the front end and Spring Boot/Hibernate/Spring Cloud on the services side is preferable.

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
