Position Title: Technical Data Management SME

Location: Redstone Arsenal

Position Type: Full-Time

Travel Requirements: Less than 10% of the time

Position Summary: The candidate will provide Configuration Management (CM) engineering support (software, hardware, and documentation) to a US Army government project office (PO). The candidate will provide technical expertise and support in the functional areas of Configuration Management Planning, Configuration Identification, Configuration Control, Configuration Status Accounting, Configuration Verification and Auditing, Data Management (DM) and Intellectual Property (IP)/Data Markings. The candidate will plan, prepare, and execute CM activities in support of Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs and various other new engineering design initiatives. The candidate will propose and/or implement CM processes and tool improvements. The candidate will support CM/DM activities including: - Preparing, reviewing, and coordinating contract requirement packages and provide input to CM/DM specific requirements. - Reviewing and maintaining accuracy of all functional, allocated, and product baseline documentation associated with managed system configurations. - Leading and participating in functional and physical configuration audits. - Providing guidance and briefings to IFMC PO senior leaders on CM/DM activities, impacts and plans as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a US citizen

  • An Active Secret Security Clearance

  • Must be a resident near the local field office (Redstone Arsenal, AL), or be willing to relocate.

  • A bachelor’s degree (or Master’s) in an Engineering oriented discipline or related field

  • 2+ years of relevant experience is required. HS diploma with 6+ years of relevant experience is also acceptable.

  • Candidates must have a solid understanding of DoD 5000 CM-related requirements and CM related industry and Army standards (i.e. EIA-649, EIA-649-1, MIL-HDBK-61, ASME standards, etc.)

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with missile defense systems in the CM domain is a plus. Candidate must be experienced with Microsoft Office products. Candidates with experience with industry accepted CM tools (Atlassian Tool suite (Jira/Confluence)) and an understanding of Agile software development are preferred. Candidate should have an understanding of systems engineering methodology and techniques. Candidate must be able to think independently and be self-motivated, with proven organizational skills, ability to multi-task and support varied assignments. Good communication skills are important, with a positive and friendly demeanor.
