The Advanced Sales Representative will be integral in maturing our Energy business sales pipeline through generation of comprehensive pre–Final Investment Decision proposals for major customers. Such proposals shall be prepared through understanding of the client specifications and drivers along with our internal processes, technology, capability, and practices.
It will be essential for the Advanced Sales Representative to work collaboratively with the other Sales Engineers, to seed Sulzer’s future Order Intake potential. This role will also require constant collaboration with other front end and back-end disciplines.
This role will require frequent client meetings (15-20%) and is a gateway position to lead to full Sales account responsibilities (Sales Representative position)
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
Understanding of the energy market pumping needs with respect to industry standards and client specifications/processes
Capability to select and propose a pump solution from a hydraulic, mechanical, package/auxiliary and commercially appealing perspective
Attend customer meetings to review their needs and propose our solutions
Collaborate and utilize support functions/departments as necessary to build on-time on quality techno-commercially attractive proposals
Fully capable in Microsoft office, Intelliquip and SalesForce
Ability and desire to work in a dynamic environment where all details may not be known, and future agility needs to be built in for the future
Appreciation of customer needs and wants, whilst balancing similar needs and wants of Sulzer
Three days minimum in office (unless with clients) work pattern
Secondary Responsibilities:
Maintains sales opportunity pipeline accuracy and status in line with Sales Representatives
Entrepreneur mindset. Advocates for best solutions for customer and Company
Pays special attention and collaborates via KAM with our key customers to enhance customer experience
Stays informed on new products or services and other general information of interest to customers
Ensures all interested parties, internal and external of Company, are aware of trends and developments in pumps, pumping system, and markets
Maintains good cross discipline relationships within Company. Support New Equipment opportunities in partnership with Pump Services counterparts
Maintains membership and is active in organizations related to pump industry
Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide LEAN and ESH Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures. Supports and cooperates in company-wide Quality Management effort.
Adheres to Company and department policies, procedures, standards, and tools
Performs other duties, as necessary.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Sciences, or related field
Minimum three years’ experience in quoting, marketing, or engineering of pumps (API 610 preferred)
Excellent written, verbal, negotiation, and interpersonal skills in English language without supervision or oversight.
In-depth knowledge of pumps, applications, and hydraulics
Ability to work independently and efficiently with little direct supervision.
Outgoing personality
Ability to accept rejection and still maintain a positive attitude.
Valid state driver’s license with safe driving record.
Proficient in math and computer skills including Microsoft Office and Salesforce
Strong ability to utilize technical knowledge and analytical skills to resolve problems and objections from both internal and external resources.
Willingness to travel (by vehicle and air) on a routine basis with occasional weekend stays, as required for given assignment/territory.
