Assistant Power Plant Superintendent

Career Opportunity

Organize and direct Power & Recovery Department to provide steam, electricity, compressed air, gas, fuel oil, and water for the production of paper at the Mill in a safe, economical, environmentally friendly manner to insure a high quality product. Reports to P&R Superintendent.

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Manages the activities of the recovery and utility processes and personnel under the guidance of the area superintendent.

  • Contributes leadership to the safe operation of the department and mill.

  • Assists with managing the cost performance of the department.

  • Encourages innovative thinking in all aspects of the operation.

  • Supports and fosters safety and environmental compliance

  • Improves efficiency of the operations by analyzing the processes utilizing all available tools and technologies

  • Manage production rates and inventories to meet our customers’ needs

  • Exceed and continuously improve on our area downtime goals

  • Troubleshoot quality and operational issues and develops systems and structures to avoid reoccurrences

  • Manage internal product quality and look for ways to reduce variability

  • Assists with the management of the area operating budget

  • Assists with the planning and executing of maintenance outages on time and on budget

  • Assists with submitting capital projects that support area operations and reduce operating costs

  • Develop area employees through training and expectation setting

What you will need to succeed:
