The location of this position is the Hampton Roads region of Southeastern Virginia.

Your Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate has comprehensive understanding of the philosophies, practices and techniques of urban/city planning; knowledge of principles and practices of research and data collection; and the ability to engage and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to prepare a range of master planning products. Initial focus will be on data collection, data analysis, preparation of plans and maps, GIS production, report graphics production, and workshop facilitation and documentation.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong technical writing, analytical and oral communication skills

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities

  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet firm deadlines

  • Team-player who can also work independently

  • Ability to acquire background clearance sufficient to gain entry to military installations and/or controlled access facilities

  • Ability and willingness to travel worldwide (a U.S. passport is required for this position)

  • Valid driver's license with good driving record

  • Position requires a pre-employment Drug screen

Preferred

  • Strong design skills

  • Proficiency in ArcMap and ArcPro is highly desired

  • Proficiency in Adobe Create Suite is highly desired

  • Demonstrated aptitude in developing and presenting oral and graphic information to a range of stakeholders

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in community/urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture or a closely related field; advanced degree a plus

  • Minimum 2 years of experience

  • AICP certification track preferred

  • Ability to obtain IAW NISPOM security clearance
