What You Will Do

The Kenvue Guelph site is looking to recruit a Laboratory Technician II (Co-op) for an 8-12 month (12 month preferred) position on our team to start in August 2024. As a member of the Quality Laboratory Team (Microbiology), the successful candidate will be able to take on increasing responsibility throughout the course of their work term(s) in support of all microbiology laboratory operations. In addition, the individual will be required to complete assigned projects in support of continuous improvement initiatives.

This assignment offers the opportunity to work in a challenging, fast-paced team environment. All students will be assigned to a training coordinator and will participate in site wide training, as well as a modular functional training program.

Key Responsibilities

In the role of the Laboratory Technician II (Co-op) your responsibilities will include:

• Support laboratory testing programs by organizing and preparing media, reagents, and solutions.

• Perform general housekeeping duties in the Quality Laboratories (analytical and microbiology) in an audit-ready state.

• Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of laboratory glassware.

• Responsible for the purchasing and maintaining the inventory of laboratory consumables and supplies in Microbiology laboratory.

• Maintaining a safe work environment by utilizing aseptic techniques and good laboratory practices (GLPs).

• Maintaining detailed, accurate and up-to-date records of work performed using good documentation practices (GDPs).

• Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and executing implementation of innovative ways for current systems/processes.

• Support technical report preparation and additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Education:

Enrollment in a B.Sc Science program or closely related subject area.

Experience And Skills:

Required:

• Strong organizational and time-management skills are required.

• Must have excellent oral communication and written documentation skills.

• Experience in laboratory techniques is an asset.

• Comfortable working with various computer programs.

• Comfortable working within a team environment and independently

• Familiar with Good Manufacturing and Good documentation practices.

• Ability to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
