Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Lubricants department for an Expert Outside Sales Representative, Lubricants . This position will be responsible for the sales, training, leading and marketing of Cenex Branded lubricants for the Pacific Northwest as well as helping lead in Montana. You must be detail oriented, have strong negotiating skills with excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and be able to solve problems with creative solutions.

(This is a home office position). Ideal candidate will live in the Pacific Northwest.

Responsibilities

Owning relationships, growing gallons, managing programs and utilization, doing it all safely

  • Hold themselves, their peers and customer base to a high level of integrity and accountability

  • Partner with key lube-focused accounts, engaging, their commitment to develop and execute an account level growth plan to meet the organic sales growth plan of the lubricants business unit as a means to hold them accountable

  • Work with large complex accounts and end-users with business across state-lines in many different states

  • Manage dotted line employee to focus on growth in adjacent geographies

  • Drive growth in all segments of the lubricant business, such as agriculture, mining, industrial, and other emerging markets

  • Work through our existing dealer network, manage the product and technical sales process, analyze targeted markets and prospect potential customers, and provide sales coaching

  • Develop and support customers' sales resources in product training, identifying, prospecting various market segments, making presentations, and work closely with salespeople in gaining new business

  • Prospect, identify required resources, and work to close the sales and marketing of lubricant products to targeted direct sales accounts

  • Build strong teamwork and relationships with internal stakeholders in order to execute on our shared vision and mission

  • Provide account management through program management, first level technical support, BBLA management, credit/billing issues, product quality, etc.

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions

  • Travel 80% of the time within the designed territory

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School degree or equivalent

  • 7 plus years of proven successful territory sales experience to include one or more of the following:

  • Proficient knowledge of lubricants or related products

  • Negotiating Win-Win business solutions

  • Strong business relationships with customers

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Communications, Marketing or related field

  • Outside sales experience to include presentations, utilizing persuasive negotiation skills, customer service, conflict resolution, and working independently

  • General knowledge of the cooperative system

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite: Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and Access

Physical Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel 80% of the time within the designed territory

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
