Spark Power Project Accountant in Fort Worth, Texas
Project Accountant
Spark Power, a trusted partner in energy in North America, is looking for a Project Accountant to join our Dallas-Fort Worth team. This role will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of their assigned electrical/construction projects, ensuring that costs are accurately estimated, budgets are maintained, and project finances are effectively managed. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the financial success of each project.
What will do you as the Project Accountant?
AR/Collections Functions
Preparation and maintenance of AR Weekly Reporting.
Understanding of the customer contract and detailed knowledge of the billing cycle, payment terms, and invoicing details.
Establish relationships with the customer as you handle invoicing, approval process, and ultimately, timely collections.
Working with the sales team on the customer setup and finance terms approval.
DSO Reporting and preparation
Revenue Recognition Process
Responsible for accurate revenue recognition and related costs.
Month end reconciliation for Deferred Revenue and Contract Asset balance sheet accounts.
Understanding and monitoring the project's Invoiced Revenue, Recognized Revenue, Contract Asset, and Deferred Revenue accounts.
Collaborating with project managers to develop accurate cost to complete values
Reporting
Collaborate with project managers to develop accurate cost estimates for construction projects
Support project managers with change order preparation and tracking within NetSuite.
Ensure that all financial transactions related to the project are accurately recorded, including purchase orders, vendor invoices, time entries and sales tax withholdings.
Maintain accurate financial records for each project and reconcile accounts as necessary (This includes tracking of the invoices vs recognized revenue and tracking of deferred revenue and contract asset at the project level)
Analyze financial data to identify trends and make recommendations to project managers and improve project profitability.

Do you have the Spark? Here's what we're looking for:
Post-Secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or Technical discipline preferred.
Experience the Electrical or Construction industries is an asset
Advanced MS office skills and proficient in Excel.
Highly organized and attention to detail and keen on getting accurate data and results.
Able to manage time effectively and work.
Excellent communication skills both orally and written.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
