Job Purpose

To define, execute, and continuously improve the maintenance department through world class maintenance leadership that supports plant operational goals and metrics. To ensure facility equipment and infrastructure are in good and reliable condition so that products can be produced safely, within quality requirements, and within customers’ expectations. To ensure maintenance and repair work is organized, planned, and executed in such a manner as to minimize downtime and maximize utilization of Multicraft technicians. To lower the cost to manufacture these products by identifying key opportunities to reduce breakdown, maintenance repairs and improve efficiencies in coordination with the maintenance/manufacturing engineer. This position also actively participates as part of the Plant Leadership Team regarding policy / employee decisions, site safety leadership, Root Cause Events, and Continuous Improvement Projects.

Principal Accountabilities

Safety – Develop and execute plant safety systems that eliminate risk of injury. Support plant safety culture, policy, procedures, and work practices in all activities. Demonstrate teams compliance with OSHA and Mitsubishi Global Safety Policy’s. Responsible for Fire and Security Systems. Complete MOC, JSA’s, Risk Assessments, as necessary

Management - Direct management of the maintenance team 24/7. Direct hourly team and prioritize the maintenance needs to minimize process downtime. Create / Review / Revise SOP’s, Work Instruction, Procedures, policy as needed. Coach, Train, Manage, Discipline employees as needed for growth.

Problem Solving – Use of Root Cause Analysis Tools and Methodology, involving coordination of multidisciplinary teams. Systematic problem-solving approach required to Identify, Correct, and Eliminate problems. Development of data streams to drive continued performance of plant and equipment reliability.

CMMS – System development and management to optimize the performance of the plant operations. Establish planning tool to effectively plan PM’s between Maintenance and Operations. Provide Training on Work Order Requests and Work Order Completion.

Training – Develop and execute an employee skills assessment and develop a plan for training. Anticipate future in Maintenance needs and advance skills to meet those needs proactively.

Project Planning – Effectively utilize project management tools to communicate and efficiently complete equipment repair and Expense / Capital type projects. Hold project review meetings to meet project timelines. Manage multiple contractors and oversee work to ensure project scope and execution meet MCG standards. Purchasing – Involve Purchasing department as necessary. Execute quote process, bid wavers, and enter purchase orders as necessary for repairs.

Plant Operations – Monitor daily Plant and Operations performance and coordinate technicians as necessary to minimize disruptions.

Performance Measurement – Define and analyze Key Performance Indicators. Make recommendations and complete projects to drive department and equipment performance. Champion MRO cost control so that target spending is achieved via the Site Business Objectives. Monitor utility costs and initiate actions to reduce the costs.

Inventory Management – Effectively Manage spare parts inventory, and VMI contactors. Identify critical spare parts and stocking / sourcing plan.

Quality – Support RC14001, ISO13485, ISO9001 requirements for Maintenance requirements. Scheduling, PM Management, Accurate Documentation and Record keeping, KPI Measurement, and Continuous Improvement.

Manage powered motor vehicle (forklifts, tuggers, company van etc.) repair and maintenance requirements. Initiate work orders and call in repair requirements. Approve quotes for repair. Ensure all work is completed and information is recorded accurately.

Leadership - Member of Site Leadership team. Involvement in Plant decision making, goal setting and management via formal daily, weekly, and monthly meetings as well as other impromptu meetings regarding urgent matters. Responsible for plants performance as a member of this team.

Pay Transparency (complete highlighted sections)

  • The salary range for this position is $66,000 - $99,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
