Operations Manager

MIDAS Council of Governments seeks a strong and dynamic leader for our Transit Operations Manager position.

MIDAS operates two transit systems: the MIDAS Regional Transit systems, which operate in the counties of Calhoun, Hamilton, Humboldt, Pocahontas, and Wright. MIDAS also operates the City of Fort Dodge's small urban transit system, DART, through an agreement with the City of Fort Dodge.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator who possesses strong leadership skills. As the transit Operations Manager, you will be part of a supportive team, assisting the Transit Director in planning, directing, implementing, and participating in the daily operation of the Transit Department to comply with the requirements of local, state, and federal regulations and policies. The Transit Operations Manager directs, supervises, coordinates, and evaluates transit staff while providing guidance, assistance, and discipline if necessary, and provides exceptional customer service in a timely and proactive manner.

Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in business administration, public administration, transportation management, or a related field and a minimum of two years in a supervisory or management position or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities may be substituted.

The applicant must have a valid driver's license and pass a Department of Human Services background and criminal records check.

The salary range is $40,000-$68,286 (depending on qualifications). This position is covered under the Iowa Public Retirement System (IPERS).
