Responsibilities:

  • Polymer processing activities within the industry not restricted to Injection Moulding.

  • Develop an understanding with all polymer processing equipment including all associated ancillary including but not limited to, Material Handling, Tooling, Metrology.

  • Utilise polymer engineering principles, such as speeds, pressures, times, in order to effectively troubleshoot the process for product optimization.

  • Mould / part design concepts.

  • Mould maintenance

  • Press maintenance

  • Material handling systems

  • Ensure compliance to internal company procedures & cGMP

  • Implement the principles of project management

  • Delivery of projects

  • Safety awareness within the Moulding Dept.

  • IT skills, Project, Word, Excel, 3-D & 2-D CAD

  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis using agreed methodology

  • Working in a team structure

Educational Requirements:

  • As per requirements of all Apprenticeships, applicants must have one of the following:

  • Leaving Cert or equivalent.

  • Grade 06 at ordinary level in 5 subjects 2 of which must be maths and a language (English or Irish).

  • QQI-FET level 5

  • Availability to spend 15 weeks in College to complete the “off the job” phase of the apprenticeship.
