Robert Half Accountant - Entry Level in Chicago, Illinois

Description We are looking for a meticulous and dedicated Accountant - Entry Level in the Chicago, Illinois area. This role involves handling tasks related to tax and accounting, and requires a detail-oriented professional who can efficiently process financial information. The role is a short-term contract position in the telecom industry.

Responsibilities:

• Extract K1’s from repository forms and process them.

• Participate in team interviews and collaborate with HR for candidate selection.

• Handle tasks related to tax and accounting, processing information in an efficient manner.

• Use your skills to improve our existing processes and contribute to the team.

• Maintain accurate records of all transactions and ensure all work is completed to a high standard.

• Ensure the company's financial information and systems are accurate, efficient, and in line with any applicable laws and regulations.

• Assist with the preparation of financial reports and statements.

• Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise in financial reports or statements.

• Work closely with the HR department to ensure all financial matters are handled appropriately.

• Perform other duties as required, ensuring the smooth operation of the company's financial department. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.

• Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Basic understanding of tax codes, compliance, and procedures.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload.

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

• Must be a team player with the ability to work independently when necessary.

• Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Must possess a strong ethical framework and professional integrity.

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

• Ability to adapt to new situations and changing priorities.

• Previous internship or work experience in an accounting role is preferred but not mandatory.

• Willingness to continuously learn and develop professionally.
