Palm Shores Behavioral Health is currently seeking a Director of Admissions and Utilization Management

Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provides quality mental health care and education services for adolescents, ages 11–17 who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, educational, family and social challenges. The program establishes healthy behaviors and prepares children to transition back home. We are a proud provider of the Patriot Support Program.

The Director of Admissions/Utilization Management is responsible for the patient intake process; implementing, monitoring, and evaluating that process. The Director of Admissions/Utilization Management will be responsible for all patient intake calls; providing information to individuals, agencies, facilities, and professional staff (i.e., physicians, consulting professionals) requesting information regarding potential admissions, developing and/or maintaining relationships with ongoing sources of referral to alternate treatment sources when appropriate. The Director of Admissions/Utilization Management performs admission and concurrent review of patients. Assures optimum quality of patient care in the most cost-effective manner. Works with the Physicians and the Clinical Department to ensure quality of documentation of patient care. This position is responsible for the hiring and development of the UM Coordinator and the Admission Coordinator positions. This position also services in rotation for administration on call.

  Qualifications

Masters degree from an accredited university in a clinical area, such as counseling, social work.

Florida licensed LCSW, LMHC, LMFT Required.

• 10 years in the Mental Health field

• Two (2) years experience as a supervisor or in a leadership capacity

• Stable emotional makeup required to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.

• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service

• Above average communication skills, high level of initiative, motivation, independent judgement and organizational skills.

• Clinical experience in psychiatric setting; situational evaluation and crisis intervention experience preferred.

• Ability to relate to those emotionally disturbed and in crisis.

• Requires extensive time sitting, writing, and talking on telephone.

• Ability to assist in crisis intervention, using verbal de-esecalation and/or physical intervention with out of control patients.
