Practice Highlights: Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician-led and accountable 500+ provider multispecialty group practice with an excellent opportunity for an advanced practice provider to join its growing Hospitalist Medicine service in Boise, Idaho. Collaborating with surgical physicians, the nurse practitioner (NP) or physician assistant (PA) provides independent high-level advanced practice services to patients within the Hospitalist Medicine Program. Clinical responsibilities include our Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) service evaluation before surgery and providing perioperative management.

Specific duties and functions include but are not limited to the following: Demonstrate knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Adolescents over 18, Adults, and Geriatric). Provide timely, accurate reports to physicians as appropriate. Seek consultation as needed. Provides thorough social and medical history, lab work evaluation and treatment, medication management, cardiac risk stratification, coordination of specialists, and home medication reconciliation. Anticipate and proactively manage peri-operative care. Coordinate with specialists engaged in patient care or refer as necessary. Provide accurate, appropriate, and timely dictation and billing. Participate in the development and clinical flow of all services provided by the department. Routine and complex decisions are made independently and in conjunction with other health care team members.

Support: 24/7 Anesthesia Service; Level II Trauma Center; ED; Saint Alphonsus FM clinic on-site; community family medicine clinics; SAHS specialty physicians rotate in outreach, larger system resources.

Requirements :

  • Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner medical license in Idaho; Valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA

  • strong medical background and a desire to provide acute care to support a growing multi-specialty medical group. In providing this support, you will obtain an Idaho medical licensure to maintain and strengthen the Health System's general internal program across all communities we serve.
