Wedding Department Manager (Full-Time)

Bethel Bakery is looking for a motivated individual to become our next Wedding Department Manager. This position oversees all Wedding Department staff, processes, and orders, while working with clients to make their wedding cake dreams come true! The primary goal of this position is to provide a memorable and stress-free experience, while transforming couples' wedding cake vision and budget into reality.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, hires, trains, schedules, coaches, evaluates, and supervises the day-to-day work of up to 6 Wedding Department staff.
• Conducts wedding cake design consultations with clients via Zoom to detail wedding cake sizes, designs, reception venues, etc.; trains department staff to conduct client consultations to maintain consistency of information.
• Processes wedding cake orders and reviews finished cakes for accuracy, ensuring quality standards for exceptional product and professional service are maintained.
• Collaborates with our Marketing Coordinator to proactively promote the bakery and increase sales through an ongoing marketing campaign, social media posts, advertising, promotional activities, and maintenance of our website.
• Tracks and improves department leading indicators, such as sales, number of appointments, closing rates, etc.
• Tracks all wedding bookings to show key performance indicators of wedding department sales, in additional to quality control tracking and consultant booking rates.
• Responsible day-of delivery:
  • Creates delivery routes and schedules
  • Keeps drivers timely with in/out loading at the bakery
  • Ensures van is loaded correctly for the scheduled deliveries
• Resolves any wedding cake delivery problems/concerns, coordinating with Delivery Drivers and Decorators, as needed.
• Keeps up-to-date on new trends and innovations in the wedding/bakery industry.
• Prepares and staffs for bridal shows.
• Maintains current wedding cake displays; ensures fondant book is up to date; oversees maintenance of delivery vehicles.
• Builds relationships with all wedding accounts; meeting annually to review account agreements and product pricing/availability.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business preferred, plus 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Customer focused, with strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills, with the ability to multi-task.
• Superior attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills.

Compensation and Hours

• $50,000-$60,000/annually, based on experience
• Full-Time; 45 hours/week
• Tuesday-Saturday; 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
• Flexibility to work outside of these core operating hours to occasionally attend Bridal Shows on Sundays, as well as occasionally work evenings to cover client appointments as needed.

Additional information

• Valid driver's license required in order to travel to and from various venues, as needed.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
• Will be required to wear skid resistant shoes when in the production/sales area of the bakery.
