Job Description Summary

Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Plan and progress all installation design.

  • Installation design validation and monitoring document tracks.

  • Ownership for revision document control, cross checking between all related documents such as Load List, Panel´s drawings, Electrical Equipment, Cable Schedule, Cable pulling list, etc.

  • Continuous interface with GE system Engineering and supplier assembling team, reporting the progress of activities (cable pulling and interconnections, etc).

  • Lead the control and application of the Installation Design inside supplier.

  • Provide technical support resolving clashes and design errors at site.

  • Red line mark ups, site changes and as built document.

  • Solving cable termination (interconnection) mismatching at site.

  • All attention for Cable Management. Form the design phase to termination phase.

  • Comply with all company and customer health and safety regulations.

  • Validate designs, specifications and documentation for systems and backing equipment, including generators, switchboards, transformers, converters, motors, energy storage, cabling etc.

  • Review of technical drawings, documents and electrical schematics for technical compliance and functionality, for validation at site. If necessary, propose and act on modifications to insure completeness of the task.

  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

  • The execution of design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.

  • Providing technical leadership to personnel assigned to the project.

  • Providing timely communications on significant issues or developments.

  • Participating on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.

  • Participating as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or related subject;

  • Fluency in English language: Strong oral and written communication skills.

Desired Characteristics

Experience

  • Experience in project execution with a strong background in assembly, installation, pre-com, commissioning, and management of large greenfield and brownfield project activities Onshore and Offshore FPSO project.

  • Proven experiences with a multi-discipline role as of Project Engineer, Quality Inspector, Site Engineer and Site Supervisor for multi-cultural type projects.

  • On site commissioning experience on large projects.

  • Experience would include: Electrical installation, including cable trays, cable pulling list, interconnection diagrams / LV and MV panels diagrams / Integrated system and equipment.

  • Ability to multi-task on a variety of projects to strict time scales, always with professionalism and integrity.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Personal Qualities

  • Excellent communication skills in English;

Circumstances

  • Willing to travel within base country and overseas for long term working;

  • Willing to work extended hours during the week, at weekends/holidays at critical times.
