Robert Half Human Resources / Risk Management in Bell, California

Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources / Risk Management Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing various aspects of human resources and risk management functions for the city.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage human resources policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Manage employee relations, including conducting investigations, resolving conflicts, and ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.

  • Coordinate recruitment and selection processes, including job postings, interviews, and onboarding.

  • Oversee employee benefits programs and assist employees with benefit-related inquiries.

  • Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure timely reporting and compliance.

  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to minimize the city's exposure to risk.

  • Conduct safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

  • Collaborate with department heads and city officials to address human resources and risk management issues.

  • Prepare and present reports on human resources and risk management activities to city management and stakeholders.

  • Stay informed about changes in human resources and risk management laws and regulations and ensure compliance.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Risk Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in human resources and/or risk management, preferably in a municipal or government setting.

  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) and/or Risk Management certification (e.g., ARM) preferred.
