Amazon Carrier Operations Specialist, COM (RSP) in Barcelona, Spain

Description

Amazon’s Carrier Operations Specialists play a central role in our global business. They keep our complex, international transportation execution working seamlessly and efficiently. As a Carrier Operations Specialist (COM), you will work closely with multiple stakeholders across and outside of Amazon, from Operational teams who are fulfilling customer orders to Retail teams and everything in between. You’ll help us optimise our delivery performance to make our customer experience even better and our business more energy and cost efficient.

Key job responsibilities

  • Analyse and interpret data to improve performance metrics across transportation execution

  • Investigate the root cause of performance failures and align corrective actions with the transportation partners

  • Collect best practices and quality standards across the industry, utilize them to educate partners

  • Design effective performance management processes, formalize them in Standard Operating Procedures and continuously improve them

  • Influence business decisions based on the performance results for each carrier

  • Partner with teams to advise on and manage operational challenges

  • Support the planning and organisation of complex projects

A day in the life

Being a Carrier Operations Specialist for Amazon involves lots of problem solving. You’ll work with a number of teams to navigate challenges as and when situations impact our network. You’ll spend time resolving temporary issues and looking at the bigger picture to drive Amazon towards achieving new objectives. This role is both proactive and reactive, and you’ll have the opportunity to help defining and applying quality standards and plan for new projects.

As a Carrier Operations Specialist , you’ll need to help with both on-the-ground tasks and more tactical work. No two days will be the same. You could spend one day helping to investigate why a customer order did not arrive on time to destination and the next coaching and educating the transportation partner to our standards and industrial best practices. Having so much variety in your role means you’ll be able to learn something new every day.

About the team

Amazon couldn’t deliver at pace without the Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team. As part of ATS, you’ll be welcomed into a diverse team that plays a central role in our success. Basic Qualifications

  • A degree obtained less than 2 years ago

  • Experience with Excel

  • Relevant experience in managing multiple projects with competing deadlines

  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in supply chain

  • Experience with SQL

  • Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology
